Terms & Conditions

Reservations

The person who makes the booking will be accepting the terms and conditions on behalf of the whole party. It’s this person’s responsibility to ensure that all members of the party are aware and accepts the whole of these terms and conditions and of the obligations contained in them.

You must comply with all reasonable guidance given by us and any notices at your chosen hotel.

Please note that we accept no liability for loss or damage to your possessions unless due to our negligence.

All bookings are subject to availability.

Brochure

We guarantee that the price of your stay will be as agreed and shown on your Booking Confirmation, and for any 0 Tax or any other tax, fee due to levy applicable to your accommodation.

Please note that all prices are inclusive of VAT. We reserve the right to raise or lower our prices at any time before booking, whether via a subsequent brochure or any communication.

Payment

At The GlobeTrotters Lodge you pay for your room on arrival or on departure.

The GlobeTrotters Lodge accepts payment by cash, cheque (with a valid cheque guarantee card) or credit/debit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Solo, Delta, maestro, Switch & Visa Electron). If we have agreed an account with you all invoices must be paid within 28 working days, unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellations

It may be necessary for you to cancel your stay due to changes in your circumstances, accident or illness. As soon as you know that the stay will need to be cancelled, ring our Central Reservations on 01935 423328 (Monday – Friday 7.00am – 6pm or Sunday – Saturday 8am – 1.30pm). Please be aware that we require notice of cancellation at least 24 hours prior to check in, cancellations received later than 24 hours prior to arrival will result in a chargeable full nights tariff.

If you have not arrived by 8am the morning after your booked date was due to commence, or contacted the hotel concerned to confirm when you will arrive, we will assume that the stay is cancelled. Please note that the first night stay will be charged.

We try very hard not to change or cancel your accommodation, but where it is necessary we will advise you or your booking agent as soon as possible. If we cancel your accommodation or make any significant alterations such as changing the accommodation or hotel then you have a choice of either:-

  1. A replacement room and price difference will be altered from our side.
  2. We will arrange alternative accommodation in the area. We will not pay any difference.

Should you wish to make any changes to your hotel accommodation we shall endeavour to accommodate you, but if we cannot, for example there is not alterative accommodation available then this will be treated as a cancellation and the cancellation charges will apply.

Particular Requirements

The GlobeTrotters Lodge can provide cots at no extra charge.

Please be advised that family and some twin rooms may consist of a double bed and a sofa/pull out bed.

The GlobeTrotters Lodge have rooms which are specially adapted for customers with disabilities. If no disabled room is available at the hotel of your choice we will contact our sister hotel to help find suitable accommodation. Alternatively, if you have difficulty walking but do not require a specially adapted room, you may request a room on the ground floor near reception for easier access.

Although The GlobeTrotters Lodge will make every possible effort to accommodate your personal requirements, all rooms are subject to availability. We apologise in advance if your particular requests cannot be met.

Please note

We regret that, with the exception of assistant dogs, no pets are allowed in The GlobeTrotters Lodge.

Electrical appliances, such as toasters and mini cookers, may not be used in the rooms as they may set off the sensitive fire alarm system.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the restaurant from 7am until 9am on weekdays, 8am until 10am on Saturday and 9am until 11am on Sunday. Breakfast is subject to change on Bank Holidays.

Restaurant

Meals are available in the restaurant adjacent to the The GlobeTrotters Lodge and can be charged to your room account.

Arrival and Departure

Rooms are available from 2pm on the arrival date and your room must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure. Failure to leave your room by this time will result in additional charges, if not already pre-arranged.

Please let us know if you are likely to arrive after 11pm in the evening.

Limitation of Liability

We accept responsibility for those arrangements for your stay which are within our control, but we cannot accept liability for any injury, loss or damage suffered by you or any other member of your party, unless one of the following applies:-

For all claims other than death or personal injury, which result from the non-performance or improper performance of GlobeTrotters, we will pay compensation that is reasonable in all circumstances.

You must notify any shortcoming or complaint to the Duty Manager as soon as possible so that wherever possible it can be remedied for you at the time. Any complaint that is brought to our attention after your stay should be made in writing to the General Manager as soon as possible to enable us to carry out an investigation.
